K-Preps Rankings Ahead of Week 7

K-Preps have updated their rankings heading into the second to last week of the regular season in high school football. 

Starting off in 8M-II, the Axtell Eagles remain the top ranked team as they won their 58th straight game last week against St. Paul 56-0. Axtell has scored 310 points this season and have allowed just 14 points all season which is second best in the classification. 

The Eagles are matched up this week with #3 ranked Hanover who is 6-0. The Wildcats have been dominant this season beating Wakefield last week 53-6. The Wildcats have scored 299 points this season and have allowed just 20 points. The matchup this week between Axtell and Hanover will be broadcasted live on 92.1 KMZA. 

In Class 1A, Jackson Heights remains the top ranked team as they're 6-0 after beating Onaga last week 55-0. Cobras quarterback Drake Mellies set a Jackson Heights school record rushing for 334 yards while totaling over 500 yards of offense with seven total touchdowns. 

Rossville remains the #3 ranked team in Class 1A as they beat Cair Parvel last week 49-14 to improve to 5-1 on the season. The Bulldogs lone loss was against Nemaha Central a few weeks ago. They also have a top five scoring offense in 1A as they have scored 269 points this season. 

The top three teams remain the same in Class 2A with Southeast of Saline, Nemaha Central, and Osage City the top three ranked squads. 

The #2 ranked Thunder won a tight battle against rival Sabetha last week 20-18 to remain undefeated this season. A win this week for Nemaha Central against Royal Valley will secure their second straight Big East league title outright.
