The Royal Valley girls and Sabetha boys earned Friday night wins as it was both teams' final games of the 2024 portion of the schedule.

Girls: Royal Valley 47, Sabetha 34

Royal Valley dominated the first half and that was enough to come away with the win.

The Panthers (4-1, 1-1) jumped out to a 16-7 lead at the end of the first quarter and increased that margin to 30-13 at halftime. Royal Valley had a lead as high as 21 during that stretch in the first half.

The Bluejays (0-5, 0-2) would play a much better second half outscoring the Panthers 21-17 but the deficit in the first half was too much to overcome.

Panno Wahwassuck led Royal Valley with a game-high of 20 points. Athena Broaddus added 14 points and Samantha Klotz pitched in with a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds.

Paxton Michael led the Bluejays with 10 points and six rebounds while Audrey Herrmann added eight points and six rebounds.

Boys: Royal Valley 34, Sabetha 53

The Bluejays would pull away from the Panthers in the second half to hit the holiday break with some momentum.

Royal Valley (2-3, 0-2) led the game 8-7 after the end of the first quarter but the Bluejays (3-2, 2-0) would have the 20-17 lead at halftime.

Sabetha would dominate the third quarter outscoring Royal Valley 21-10 with LT Thomas doing a bulk of the scoring in the quarter for Sabetha. Thomas would finish with a game-high 18 points.
