One Area School & 14 Wrestlers Ranked in Latest KWCA Rankings - Jan. 26th

Plenty of great performances have been showcased on the mats all season in high school wrestling and many Northeast Kansas area grapplers continue to remain ranked by the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association in the latest rankings. Fourteen area wrestlers and one team are in the rankings this week. 

Class 3-2-1A continues to have several area wrestlers in the rankings with 11 grapplers form the area in the Top six of their weight classes and one team in the Top 10. The Marysville Bulldogs continue to climb up the wrestling rankings moving up two spots this week to third as a team and senior, Chris Deters is leading the way as he ranks first at 132lbs yet again this week. Both Jacob Stryker (160lbs) and Jacob Mintzmyer (170lbs) come in ranked third this week at their weight classes and for Mintzmyer that is up three spots in the rankings. While, Nick Ackerman remains ranked fourth at 182lbs for the Bulldogs in 3-2-1A. 

Doniphan West is the only other area school in Class 3-2-1A that continues to have multiple wrestlers in the rankings as both Garret Dunlap (160lbs) and Kody Collins (182lbs) check in at fourth and fifth in the polls and have been ranked most of the season. 

ACCHS Tiger junior, Hunter Ostertag remains ranked second at 132lbs behind only Deters of Marysville, while Pleasant Ridge Ram senior, Dustin Graham moved up two spots to third at 195lbs. Riverside Cyclone sophomore, Scott Resler continues to be ranked fourth this week at 138lbs, while Quentin Lara of Onaga again checks in at fifth in the latest rankings at 220lbs. Royal Valley Panthers senior, Noah Hart jumps into the 3-2-1A rankings this week coming in at sixth at 152lbs. 

Class 4A once again this week continues to have three Holton Wildcats in the rankings as Tyler Price, Justin Rieschick and Justin Pool all are ranked. All three Wildcats remained ranked at the same spots as last week as Price is second at 152lbs, Rieschick third at 145lbs and Pool fifth at 138lbs. 

As February approaches area wrestlers gear up for the home stretch of the regular season action and Regionals and State on the horizon.
