ACCHS Wrestlers Compete at Eudora Invitational

It was tough competition for the ACCHS Tigers when they travelled to Eudora for wrestling action last Friday and Saturday to compete in the Eudora Invitational. 

Ranked Tiger grappler, Hunter Ostertag put together the strongest performance for ACCHS during the tournament bring home a third place finish at 132lbs going 6-1 in matches wrestled. Ostertag opened the competition a pair of pinfall wins in 3:28 and 2:35, while also picking up a 12-3 major decision win, putting him into the quarterfinals. In the quarterfinals it was a close bout but Ostertag registered a 4-2 decision win over a grappler from Rossville to move into the semifinals. In the semifinals Hunter lost his only match of the day falling by pinfall in 4:34, but he bounced back to win in the consolation bracket by a 6-3 decision to earn a spot in the third place match. Ostertag would take on the grappler from Rossville he beat in the quarterfinals again this time for third place and Hunter picked up the 4-0 decision win to claim third place at 132lbs. 

At 285lbs Ryan Hanshaw posted just a 1-4 record earning him 12th place at the Eudora Invitational. While, Jaden Lee (138lbs), Hunter Evans (145lbs) and Aaron Daniels (170lbs) all finished 16th place in their weight classes for the Tigers going 1-3, 1-3 and 1-4. Four other wrestlers hit the mats for ACCHS at the Eudora Invitational as Karl Scholz (120lbs), Nick Hager (152lbs), Austin Hager (106lbs) and Dylan Brinkinsha (160lbs) competed for the Tigers. Both Scholz and Nick Hager each picked up one win in the tournament. 

The Tigers now head into Christmas break and will return to the mats in January on the ninth at the Rossville Invitational.
