Pleasant Ridge Boys Win 3A Pleasanton Cross Country Regional & Ram Girls Take Second

Four area schools competed for State spots in cross country in Class 3A at the Pleasanton Regional on Saturday with Pleasant Ridge leading those performances, while Perry Lecompton, Maur Hill-Mount Academy and Oskaloosa all had State qualifiers, also. 

In the boys competition Pleasant Ridge cruised to the Regional title posting 57 points to win Regionals by 27 points. Luke Oatney led the Rams as he has all season this time winning a Regional title behind a time of 17:19.13, winning by over 11 seconds. Ronny Jared joined him in the Top 10 placing tenth with a time of 18:14.10, while the Rams team score was finished out by 11th, 17th and 20th place finishes by Gabe Younger, Dayton Flack and Clayton Price, respectively. Herken Reid and Noah Tattershall, also competed for the Rams, finishing 22nd and 26th.

The Lady Rams will be taking their team to State just like the boys as the girls finished second at Regionals as a squad, only six points away from Regional title. Bridget Howard paced the Lady Rams finishing eighth with a time of 22:38.30, while Sara Nooner, Grace Dedeke, Kaylie Warden and Taylor Satre finished out Pleasant Ridge's team score finishing 12th, 15th, 16th and 17th, respectively. Grace Wagner and Cassandra Thompson also competed for the Lady Rams, finishing 24th and 34th.

A pair of Maur Hill Ravens are headed to State as both Jack and Grace Siebert continued their trend of Top 10 finishes this year. Jack posted a time of 17:30.24 to earn the silver medal in the boys competition, while Grace notched a time of 21:58.64 to place fourth and earn a spot at State. 

Lexia Jamison of Perry Lecompton is headed to State after the best area girl’s performance at the Pleasanton 3A Regionals as she ran to a time of 21:20.35 to finish second. 

For Oskaloosa, Braeden Pfau earned a spot at State as he placed fifth at Regionals with a time of 18:00.04. 

The runners now turn their attention to the Class 3A State competition on Saturday, October 31st in Lawrence at Rim Rock.
