Spots to the Class 4A State tournament were up for grabs on Tuesday at Village Greens golf course in Meriden and both Holton and Jeff West from the area were in action.

Ultimately at the end of the day for many of the area golfers the season came to an end after their performance at Regionals but for Holton Wildcat senior, Quinn Holaday the season will continue as she qualified for State as an individual. The top five individual scores from non-qualifying teams earn a spot at State and Holaday fell into that category after shooting a 93 to finish ninth place at Regionals out of 47 golfers.

For the rest of the Holton Wildcats, Regionals was the last competition of the year but they put together solid showings. Taylor Stevens finished 16th place missing out on State by just one-stroke with a round of 102, while Faith Holaday shot a 111 to placed 32nd, Cali Smith finished 36th with a round of 112 and Sarah Holaday posted a 123 to finish 41st.

The Jeff West Tigers had six gals compete on the day and it was Oliva Neuenswander notching the best round with a 102 to finish15th, just one-stroke off of qualifying for State. Delaney Holthaus carded a 108 to finish 26th, while Sydney Schneider posted a round of 109 finishing 28th. Miranda Hein finished 30th with a 110, while Anna Mooradian carded a 111 to finish 33rd and Jordan Biggs finished 35th with a 112.

Quinn Holaday will continue her season at the 4A State tournament on Monday, October 19th in Hays at the Smoky Hill Country Club.
