Latest KWCA Rankings (Feb. 10th) -- 3-2-1A & 4A

As the final tournaments of the regular season are set for this weekend across the state in high school wrestling, teams and wrestlers are gearing up for Regionals and the latest KWCA rankings have been released with two area teams and 14 individual wrestlers are ranked in Class 4A or 3-2-1A.

Class 3-2-1A saw movement in the rankings for area grapplers and two wrestlers jumped into the rankings this week. The Marysville Bulldogs continue to headline the 3-2-1A rankings for the area as they rank sixth this week in the polls as a team, down one spot. Senior, Josh Nelson leads the Bulldogs in the rankings as remains ranked number one at 170lbs, while junior, Chris Deters remains fourth at 125lbs and sophomore, Jacob Mintzmyer moved down one spot to fifth this week at 152lbs.

Doniphan West Mustangs have three wrestlers in the rankings this week as both Garret Dunlap and Kody Collins each remain ranked this week and Troy's, Tristan Speer also remains in the rankings. The junior, Dunlap took the largest fall in the rankings this week of any area grappler being knocked off the number one spot for the first time this year, falling to third at 160lbs, while the junior, Collins jumped up one spot to third at 182lbs. Speer continues his strong senior season and remained ranked number one yet again at 195lbs in 3-2-1A.

ACCHS Tiger sophomore, Hunter Ostertag continues to be a staple in the rankings checking in once more this week at fourth at 120lbs, while Sabetha Bluejay senior, Jacob Leuthold also continues to highlight the rankings for the are coming in at second again at 285lbs. Luethold's teammate in Sabetha junior, Brandon Poe joined the rankings for the first time this year coming in at sixth at 170lbs. The Onaga Buffalos just like Sabetha have a pair of grapplers ranked this week also as Dustin Blow who rejoined the rankings last week remained ranked fifth at 195lbs and fellow senior, Kyle Ames returned to the rankings this week coming in at fourth at 182lbs.

In Class 4A the Holton Wildcats are the only area team with a presence in the rankings, as they remain ranked as a team and have a trio of individuals in the rankings. The Wildcats tumbled in the team rankings to ninth last week after being in the Top five all season, this week Holton moved up one spot to eighth in the team Top 10 in Class 4A. Senior, Lucas Lovvorn continues to remain atop the perch at 160lbs ranking number one yet again, while junior, Justin Rieschick checks in at second at 145lbs. Senior, Mason Baum fell down to sixth last week and remain ranked sixth this week at 170lbs.

The regular season will wrap up this week with multiple tournaments and then schools and individuals turn their attention to Regional wrestling a week from Saturday.
