The Onaga Buffalos welcomed the Frankfort Wildcats to town on Tuesday night for a Twin Valley League showdown and each school finished the evening with a win as the Frankfort girls picked up the 43-35 win and Onaga boys routed Frankfort 76-47.

Frankfort girls started the night hot from the floor as junior, Kyla Hardwick scored 10 of the team’s first 12 points and the Wildcats worked out to a 15-5 advantage in the first quarter, hitting a barrage of three's early (six three's in the first half). But Onaga answered closing the quarter out on a 6-0 run to make it a 15-11 game after one period. The Buffalos crept closer in the second quarter trailing only 20-18 at one point until Frankfort went on a 9-0 run to led 29-18 for their largest lead of the game to that point, a bucket by Onaga made it 29-20 at the half. Onaga continued to fight back into the game against Frankfort in the second half but Frankfort had multiple answeres working out to a 12-point lead multiple times, but Onaga pushed back just down the stretch couldn't get shots to fall, giving Frankfort the 43-35 win.

With the win Frankfort improves to 5-12 on the season and 2-7 in League play, as Hardwick led the team on the night with 14 points earning Community National Bank "Player to Bank On" honors on KMZA radio. While freshman, Rebecca Adams chipped in 11 points and junior, Maura Kennedy scored 10 points. Onaga with the loss fell to 1-15 and 0-8 in League play on the year, as senior, Taylor Kufahl led the Buffalos posting 11 points.

In the boys game it was 6-4 early with Onaga up just by two points in the first few minutes, but the Buffalos closed out the first quarter outscoring Frankfort 23-4 to lead 29-8 after one period. The Buffalos utilized transition, three-point shots, feeding the post and defense to established early control of the game as they led 37-20 at the half and continued to add to their lead with a 25-15 third quarter, cruising to the 76-47 win at home.

The senior quartet of Jarod Gronewoller, Lucas Helget, Michael Bliss and Wyatt Cordell scored 61 of the teams 76 points in the win, helping Onaga improve to 12-5 on the year and 4-4 in TVL action. Gronewoller led the way with a new season high 20 points, while Helget established a new season high, also posting 18 points. Bliss scored double figures for the first time all year finishing with 13 points, 10 of which he scored in the first quarter, while Cordell added 10 points. The four senior's together all earned the Community National Bank "Player to Bank On" honors on KMZA radio.

Frankfort with the loss fell to 5-12 on the season and 3-6 in TVL play and was led by sophomore, Jedd Rose off the bench posting 10 points, while Brenden Levi, Jacob Studer and Adam Kenworthy all each posted eight points.
