Onaga hosted their Winter Duals wrestling tournament back on Saturday, welcoming five other schools to town for action on the mats.

It was a Dual tournament with teams facing off against each other in competition and Pleasant Ridge and Onaga posted 2-3 and 1-4 team records in their duals on the day to finish fourth and fifth, respectively. Marion with a 5-0 tournament took first, while Burlington finished 4-1 to take second, Russell placed third with a 3-2 record and Rock Creek finished sixth as team going 0-5 in duals.

Pleasant Ridge on the day picked up a 40-39 dual win over Rock Creek and 42-39 win over the host Onaga. While the Rams fell to Marion 54-24, lost to Russell 50-24 and Burlington 42-33. Rams grapplers, Colton Doty and Devin Dorr led the individual performances for the Rams on the day taking first at 285lbs and 113lbs, respectively posting the best individual records in the weight classes. While, Luke Oatney (106lbs) and Colt Evans (138lbs) both finished second in their weight classes.

For the host Onaga Buffalos their lone dual win came against Rock Creek, winning 44-30, while falling to Marion (53-21), Burlington (49-24), Pleasant Ridge (42-39) and Russell (39-33). A pair of individual first place performances led the Buffalos as Kyle Ames (182lbs) and Dustin Blow (195lbs) each posted the best days at their weight classes of the six teams. Three other Onaga wrestlers picked up second place individual showings at their weight class as Trenton Ross (132lbs), Garrett Ames (170lbs) and Quentin Lara (220lbs) finished second place.

Onaga wraps up the wrestling regular season with the Mid-East League tournament this Friday, while Pleasant Ridge wraps up the regular season on the mats at the Chase County Invite on Saturday.
