Latest KWCA Rankings -- 3-2-1A & 4A

The holiday break is over and the second half of the season is ready to roll for wrestling and 14 area grapplers and two area teams start the second portion of the season ranked coming out of the holiday break.

In Class 3-2-1A, the latest rankings were released right before Christmas time and the Marysville Bulldogs find themselves still in the Top 10 as a team checking in at sixth in the latest KWCA rankings. Senior, Josh Nelson is pacing the way for the Bulldogs this season as he continues to remain ranked first in at 170lbs, while junior, Chris Deters checks in at third in the 126lbs Top six rankings.

Two Doniphan West Mustang juniors in Garret Dunlap and Kody Collins both are ranked in 3-2-1A after strong starts to the season. Dunlap continues to hold down the number one spot at 160lbs, while Collins checks in at fourth at 182lbs, breaking into the rankings for the first time this year. Troy Trojan senior, Tristan Speer continues to hold down the number one spot at 195lbs, as he has been ranked number one all season.

Onaga, Sabetha, ACCHS and Pleasant Ridge all also have grappler in the latest 3-2-1A KWCA rankings. For the Buffaloes, senior, Dustin Blow continues to be ranked at fifth at 195lbs, while Sabetha Bluejay senior, Jacob Leuthhold checks in at third at 285lbs, again. ACCHS Tiger sophomore, Hunter Ostertag continues to be ranked coming in at fourth at 120lbs in the latest KWCA polls. While, Pleasant Ridge senior, Colt Evans joins the rankings for the first time this season, coming in at sixth at 138lbs.

The Holton Wildcats continue to highlight Class 4A for the area as they remain tied for third in the latest polls just released, here in early 2015. Senior, Lucas Lovvorn continues to lead the Wildcats as he remains ranked number one at 160lbs, while junior, Justin Rieschick continues to be ranked second at 145lbs. Senior, Mason Baum fell down in the rankings to fifth in the latest polls at 170lbs and sophomore, Tyler Price checks in at sixth at 138lbs in the latest polls.

Royal Valley Panther junior, Matthew Bailey continues to be a strong presence in the rankings in Class 4A, remaining ranked fourth at 182lbs in the latest KWCA 4A polls.

With the holiday break in the rear view mirror teams turn their attention to a strong start out of the break to gain momentum, as they look into the future towards Regionals and State competition in a few months.
