Stingy pitching in game one and a late rally in fourth inning (of a scheduled five inning game) in game two propelled Sabetha to a sweep of Royal Valley at home, notching 5-3 and 7-3 wins.

In game one, Brendan Garrett found a groove early and worked five and two-thirds of innings scattering four hits over that frame while striking out nine, working around the six free passes he issued giving up two runs, both of which were unearned. Graham Howard relieved Garrett in the sixth to finish of the final inning and a third to earn the save and work out of a two-out bases loaded jam in the sixth.

The offense for Sabetha was led by Thaine Allen and Kyle Stallbaumer who both had a multi-hit game, while Royal Valley's, Logan Bausch posted two of the four Royal Valley hits in the contest.

Game two, Royal Valley had the lead at 3-2 in the top of the fourth, but Sabetha started the comeback in the bottom of the inning and plated five runs to come back and win the contest 7-3 in the schedule five inning game.

Three hits, two walks and a pair of errors on pick off moves lead to Sabetha's five run fourth. With Howard on the bases, Keegan Schuman laced a doubled to get Howard to third, then Tyler Ulrich brought him home with a single to tie the game. Allen then broke the tie with an RBI single and a couple of errant pickoff moves help Sabetha get three more in the inning.

Blake Popkess pitched a solid game pitching the first four innings of action and earned his second win of the year.
