Valley Falls Baseball Sweeps Lebo

It was a good start to the spring season for the Valley Falls baseball team as the Dragons won a pair of games at Lebo to begin the year 2-0.

Game One = Valley Falls 18, Lebo 3

Four runs batted in from Carson Clark helped lead Valley Falls Dragons past Lebo 18-3 in the opener.  Clark drove in runs on a home run in the fourth and a walk in the fifth. The Dragons scored seven runs in the fifth inning to put the game away.  Avery Gatzemeyer also homered in the fourth and had three hits as did Brennen Miller. 

Gage Burdiek got the win for Valley Falls. The hurler went four innings, allowing zero runs on ust one hit and striking out six.  Trenton Kraxner threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Game Two = Valley Falls 7, Lebo 2

The night cap was a comeback as Valley Falls Dragons was down 2-1 in the top of the seventh inning when Gage Burdiek singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs and went on for the win. Gatzemeyer got the win going six innings, allowing two runs on one hit and striking out 13.  Cooper Jepson threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

The Dragons racked up eight hits in the game.  Gatzmeyer, Mason Allen, and Trenton Kraxner each managed multiple hits for Valley Falls Dragons in game two.
