It wasn't the prettiest game for Sabetha or their opponent Auburn as both teams were hurt by errors and free passes in the contest, but Sabetha captalized the best on their opportunities for the 8-6 win on the road.

Hits were at a premium in the contest as Sabetha on registered four total on the night but, came out on top by the aide of walks, hit batters and errors.

Auburn took the early lead in the game behind an unearned run in the first inning, but Sabetha responded in the second inning plating six to take the 6-1 lead using five walks and an error, plus a pair of hits. Blake Popkess tallied a two-run single, while Tyler Ulrich added a RBI single in the inning. Ulrich added another in the contest later, to account for half of Sabetha's hits on the night.

Lead jump to 8-2 in the fourth for Sabetha without even registering a hit as Sabetha had four hit batters, a walk and RBI groundout by Graham Howard to stretch their lead. Down by six, Auburn made a late push for a potential comeback scoring four unearned runs on three Sabetha errors to inch closer but ultimately fall short.

Brendon Garrett pitched his fourth complete game of the year, earning his fifth win the season only giving up one earned run in the matchup.

With the win Sabetha improves to 14-6 on the season and now turns their attention to action over the weekend when they host Leavenworth at Somerset park on Saturday for a double header at 1:30 and 3:30pm.
