Coming into the night both Doniphan County and Sabetha found themselves having to revamp the lineups a bit due to injuries and players gone because of other events, but ultimately at the end of the night it was key consistent players for Sabetha helping lead them to the 12-3 win.

Looking for some revenage from a 12-1 loss in the NEK League tournament early this season to Doniphan County, Sabetha came out firing on all cyclinders take grab a six-run lead after one inning. Kyle Stallbaumer lead the bottom of the first off with a single, then the bases loaded with a pair of free passes and that is when McKenzie McAfee started the scoring for Sabetha with a bases clearing triple for his lone hit of the game. Blake Popkess added an RBI single in the inning and Sabetha tallied two more runs after that to lead 6-0 after just one inning.

Doniphan County looked to try and work themselves back in the game as they tallied a run in the second inning as Dylan Gabriel came around to score after reaching with a one-out double; Jeff Watts followed Gabriel with a single to plate the Doniphan County run. The lead was cut to five runs, but Doniphan County squandered an opportunity to plate more leaving the bases loaded in the second.

Sabetha went on to added a run in the third and fourth innings before the lead was cut to five again in the sixth as Doniphan County capitalized on a Sabetha error, a walk and a hit to score two runs. With an 8-3 lead going into the bottom of the sixth Sabetha needed three runs to finish the game off via run-rule. Three hits in the sixth and Sabetha pushed themselves to the win as Tyler Ulrich registered a two-run double, which was followed by a two-run homer by Kegan Schuman to finish the game, 12-3 in six innings.

Schuman posted a single on top of his home run to go 2-3 on the night with pair of runs scored and two RBI, earning McDonald's "Player of the Game" honors for his home run that ended the game. Popkess and Stallbaumer posted three hit nights for Sabetha, has Blake scored three runs and Kyle had two RBI's. Stallbaumer, also pitched the final two innings of the game while Nolan Keim earned the win pitching the first four innings of action giving up one run on four hits, three walks, two hitter batters, while striking out five.

For Doniphan County their offense struggled on the night with only six total hits all by different players; Caleb Winkel, Luke Smith and Dylan Gabriel all posted a hit and one of the three runs scored by Doniphan County. Jeff Watts, Colton Masters and Tucker Morris tallied the other three hits.

With the win Sabetha improves to 10-3 on the season and 4-0 in league action setting up a undefeated league matchup tonight with Seneca who is 3-0 in league play and 6-0 overall. Doniphan County with the loss falls to 3-5 on the year and now 0-1 in league action and will next be in action in the Doniphan County tournament Thursday against Rock Creek.
