Emma Yungeberg

One of the more established sports careers in our area ended at State Track this past weekend as Emma Yungeberg of Valley Heights closed her high school career with three more gold medals.

She swept the 2A shot put, javelin and discus events giving her now six career gold medals at State Track. Her throw in the shot put (43-07.50) broke the 2A Meet record.

Last season she finished first in the shot put, first in the javelin, and second in the discus but this season she sweeps all three.

Emma was also First Team All-State in Class 2A for basketball this season from the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association as she helped lead the Mustangs to the State Tournament.

She was also Second Team All-State in Class 2A for the volleyball season from the Kansas Volleyball Coaches Association.

Emma is off to Michigan to continue her academic and track and field career.
