The Troy softball team is off to an undefeated 9-0 start and the expectations are high the rest of the season.
Junior Paityn Engemann did something last week that you don’t see very often. At Onaga last Thursday, Paityn pitched a six-inning perfect game. She faced 18 batters and struck out all 18 batters. She also went 4 for 4 at the plate including a home run.
Paityn so far this season is hitting .680 with a .765 on-base percentage with two home runs and 16 RBI’s. On the mound, she’s a perfect 4-0 with 40 strikeouts in 19 innings pitched with a sub-four ERA. Last season she hit .660 with three home runs and 30 RBI’s.
Troy is outscoring their opponents by an average score of 15-2 and their team batting average this season is over .525. The Trojans went 15-4 last season and finished as Regional Runner-Up.
