Jesse Greenly

The Atchison football team has won seven straight games entering postseason play this week. A big reason for the success in 2021 is running back Jesse Greenly.

Greenly has been one of the top backs in the state all season long and that continued in their big win on Friday against KC Washington as he rushed for 276 yards on 33 carries with two scores.

The win against KC Washington also secured the outright KCA League title along with a 7-1 finish to the regular season and the 3-seed in Class 4A East.

On the season, Greenly has rushed for 1,464 yards with 26 touchdowns. That comes out to averaging 183 rushing yards per game while averaging over nine yards per carry.

Atchison will host Fort Scott in the first round of the playoffs on Friday night.
