Brenna Diller

The Kansas State Powerlifting Meet was held at Halstead High School for Class 3A over the weekend and Hiawatha’s Brenna Diller came away with a state title in the 165-pound weight class.
Despite being just 157 pounds, which was nearly 10 pounds lighter than most of her competitors, Diller won two of her three events and captured the total weight crown by just 10 points.
She won the bench press by 10 pounds as she was able to rep 135 and followed that up with a win by five pounds on squat as she reached 215 pounds.
Her second-place finish came in the clean as she was five pounds shy of first place finishing with a rep of 170 pounds.
That put her total weight for the day at 520 pounds which was good enough for first place over a girl from Colby who stuck right with Diller all day.
Diller will look to use that momentum from her first place finish and use it during the track and field season as she will be called upon to be the leader of the sprint group for Hiawatha.
