Cam Anderson

It has been a wild, COVID-filled start to the 2020 season for the Troy football team but Friday night the Trojans got back to normalcy and got into the win column with a dominant 30-20 win over Pleasanton.

The Trojans have had to place a big load on junior quarterback Cam Anderson and Friday night he came through throwing for 196 yards and two touchdowns while returning a punt 74 yards for a score in Troy’s first victory of the year.

To go along with what Anderson did offensively and on special teams, he also recorded an interception and recovered a fumble on defense.

Anderson is nearing 900 yards passing on the season as he has completed 56 percent of his passes for 828 yards and four touchdowns.  

He did most of his damage Friday night through the first three quarters as he sat out most of the fourth nursing an injury.

Anderson will be called upon to continue to lead the Trojans in the right direction and will need another big game Friday night as Troy hosts Jackson Heights in a critical Class 1A district game with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
