Trevor Pentlin

The high school cross country season is in full swing for area athletes and what a last few seasons it has been for Jeff County North’s Trevor Pentlin.

Pentlin has been a force throughout Northeast Kansas running cross country and it continued last week with a first-place finish at the McLouth Invitational where he dominated winning the meet by over 30 seconds.

This comes after reaching the state tournament a year ago where he finished runner-up following a regional championship as well.

He also finished runner-up at the Northeast Kansas League meet last season which capped off a strong regular season which saw him take 15th at the annual Rim Rock Invitational which is one of the biggest meets in Kansas featuring over 300 runners.

Pentlin will look to make it back to the state meet once again this season as the Chargers will be back in action on Thursday competing at the Nemaha Central Invite.
