Last season the Perry Lecompton Kaws reached the Class 3A State Tournament by beating Silver Lake in the sub-state championship game on a game-winning shot by Blake Farmer in the final seconds sending Perry to Hutchinson for the second straight year.
Friday night Farmer provided heroics once again but on a much smaller stage, as he delivered a game-winning jumper with 2.2 seconds left to cap off 2019 with a thrilling 48-46 victory over Nemaha Central at home.
Farmer was great all week long for the Kaws as Tuesday night he poured in 19 points in Perry’s 57-52 Big 7 League victory over Jeff West.
In the Kaws 3-2 start to the year he is averaging just over 13 points per game after last year being named a first team all-Big 7 League selection.
Farmer and the Kaws will look to continue their 3-1 start to the league schedule after the holiday break as Perry will next be in action Jan. 3 hosting Rossville with tip off of the boys game scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
