After winning a third consecutive state title and losing six impactful seniors along with perhaps the greatest high school volleyball coach of all-time in the state of Kansas in Kimbrook Tennal, Centralia entered the 2019 season with several question marks.
It was a slow start to the season for the Panthers who saw an 80-match win streak gone on the first match of the year, but since that first weekend Centralia has been great posting a 21-5 record to this point.
A big reason to the success of the Panthers has been the play of senior setter Morgan Kramer who is one of the only returners off last year’s state championship team.
Kramer helped lead Centralia to a win at the Valley Falls Invitational on Saturday and this season is averaging over 11 assists per match along with four digs per match and a 96 percent serve percentage.
On last season’s state championship team, she was second in aces with 58 on the year while recording 190 digs to go along with 558 assists which was far and away the team lead.
Kramer has been an all-Twin Valley League selection twice earning a second team selection in 2017 and a first team selection last season.
The Panthers and Kramer will look to continue their strong start to the season with just two weeks remaining in the regular season.
