It’s been a highlight career already for Hiawatha junior Justin Hodge and it got even better last week with a win at the Redhawks home cross country meet.
It was the second win for Hodge already this season, as he also won the Marysville Invitational with a time of 17:32 which also set the course record for Hiawatha.
He has gone to state in cross country his first two years at Hiawatha finishing high both years while he has also reached state track both years making it to the podium in both the 1600 and 3200-meter runs.
Just last season Hodge placed seventh in the 1600-meter race with a time of 4:37 and also placed third in the 3200 with a time of 9:51.
Last year on the cross-country circuit he had a strong race at the Rim Rock Invitational as he took second overall and was the top 3A man in a race that features several states and all classes.
Hodge will look to continue his strong junior campaign and better his place at the Rim Rock Invitational which is set to take place on Saturday.
