Despite a slow start the Wetmore girls’ basketball team is currently riding a hot streak as they are winners of five of their last six games with freshman Kenzie Strathman leading the way.
She is coming off two double-doubles last week in the Cardinals two wins, as she opened up the week with a career-high 22 point, 12 rebound performance in a 47-25 win over Onaga.
Strathman followed that up with another huge night in Friday’s 55-45 win over Washington County, as she scored 16 points and pulled down 14 more rebounds.
On the season she is averaging 9.5 points and 11.4 rebounds per game, while also recording at least one steal and one block a night.
After a slow start to the year Strathman has the Wetmore girls back to just one game under .500 on the year and will look to continue her success with three games remaining in the regular season.
