Devin Taylor

Doniphan West Mustangs galloped past the competition at the Twin Valley League Tournament winning the tourney title and improving to 11-0 on the season in the process.

While several guys led the way for the Mustangs to earn the tournament Championship the play of senior, Devin Taylor has been right at the front of the performances.

Taylor dropped 21 points in the Mustangs first tournament game an 82-57 victory over Axtell in the Quarterfinals. The Mustang senior followed that up with a season high 25 points in a 60-49 win over Centralia in the Semifinals scoring 13 points in the first quarter to set the tone in the contest. In the Championship matchup Taylor tallied 20 points with 15 coming in the first half as Doniphan West topped Hanover 63-54.

On the season Taylor is averaging 20 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 2.3 steals per game and shooting over 40% from three-point range on the year. Taylor has scored double figures in every game he has played this season including netting 20+ points six times with five of the six coming in the last five games.

Doniphan West has their sights set on a strong finish to the regular season and another postseason run as Taylor and his teammates look to continue their top notch play.
