The Valley Falls lady Dragons are putting together another strong season on the basketball court sitting at 13-3 on the season and tied atop the Northeast Kansas League.
While several contributors have helped the Dragons find their success this season, sophomore, Reagan Kirkwood has been a big part of the team’s success including wins over Maur Hill-Mount Academy and Jefferson County North last week. Valley Falls topped Maur Hill 43-27 and Kirkwood tallied 16 points and then followed that up to lead the team with 21 points in a 46-21 win over JCN. The win over JCN saw the Dragons avenge an earlier season loss and was the third time Kirkwood surpassed 20 points on the year, second against the Chargers.
The sophomore as stepped into a big role this season for the Dragons and is posting 12.5 points per game, while adding three rebounds and three assists per game along with shooting 43% from the floor and 72% from the charity stripe. Kirkwood on the year had her best game against Pleasant Ridge with 24 points in the JCN Invitational third place game.
Another run at State is on the minds of the Dragons as Kirkwood and the team look to finish out the regular season strong and compete in the postseason for the right to make another trip to the State tournament.
