Zayne Heckenlively
|
Making an impact in one facet of the game is big enough but when you can make an impact in all three facets of the game that’s quite impressive. Falls City Tiger junior, Zayne Heckenlively has been impactful all over the football field this season for the Tigers who are 5-1 this year and that impact was evident last Friday versus Louisville in a 40-13 win.
The Tiger junior carried the load on offense with 30 carries for 228 yards with four touchdowns (runs of 42, 46, 21 and 15 yards), but his impact didn’t stop there as Zayne registered four tackles on defense with a sack and two interceptions. As if that’s not enough he also punted in the contest and averaged 31.1 yards per punt on eight punts in the win.
Throughout the season, Heckenlively has amassed 1,002 yards on 107 carries through the first six games of the season for an average of 167 yards per game rushing and 9.4 yards per carry, while scoring 15 touchdowns. On defense Zayne is second on the team in tackles with 39, while picking up two sacks, three interceptions and two fumble recoveries on the season.
The Tigers have been rolling this season and Heckenlively has been at the forefront of the success helping lead the charge with his teammates and looks to help Falls City continue that success as the season rolls along.
