Jocelyn Marten

It was a rough start to the season for the Lady Buffalos of Onaga but right before the break the Lady Buffs picked up win number one of the season and used that momentum, to start the post-holiday break portion of the season with another win for a two-game winning streak, to improve to 2-3 on the year.

A big part of those two wins has been the stellar play of senior, Jocelyn Marten who posted a double-double in both games and scored a combined 54 points in the two games; accounting for 61.4% of the team’s offense in the two wins.

Out of the break Marten put together her best performance of the year and easily one of her best in her career as she poured out 30 points against Clifton-Clyde in a Lady Buffalos 36-34 win on the road with the team minus two starters. Jocelyn added 15 rebounds and two steals to her final stat line, while going 10-16 from the charity stripe on the night.

Before the break Marten broke out in the scoring category tallying 24 points against Wabaunsee in a 52-42 win; that was more points than her first three games of the season combined (22 points). The senior didn’t just get it done on the offensive end as she nabbed 16 rebounds, picked up a pair of steals and went 4-6 from the free throw line.

Marten on the season has lead the Lady Buffalos with 15.2 ppg, 12.2 rpg, 1.2 apg and 1.2 apg on the year as she return as the primary offensive threat for the Onaga from last year’s team.

The Buffalos started the season with some rough patches but are riding a two-game winning streak courtesy of the play of senior, Jocelyn Marten who has more than tripled her point total on the season in the last two games.
