Katherine Madsen

Former Hiawatha student-athlete Katherine Madsen posted a great first season with the Saint Mary’s cross country team this past fall.

Madsen helped the Spires women’s cross country team to their fourth KCAC League Title in the last five seasons by placing seventh in the League Championships.

Saint Mary’s would go on to place seventh at Nationals as Madsen would post a top-95 finish out of roughly 340 athletes.

The Spires would finish the season ranked seventh in the Postseason Coaches Top-25 rankings.

Katherine’s senior season with Hiawatha resulted in a top-25 finish at the 3A State Cross Country Meet in November of 2020. She also won back-to-back Big 7 League individual titles her senior and junior seasons.
