Earlier this week we chose our first athlete of week at and today we begin our series of Blast from the Past Athletes presented by Rainbow Communication.
Our first Blast from the Past Athlete is former Maur Hill-Mount Academy Raven Nick Caudle who is about start his junior season on the University of Kansas football team.
Caudle played in 11 games last season for the Jayhawks, mainly on special teams, but now heads into the 2020 season second on the depth chart as safety.
Caudle was a three-sport athlete at Maur Hill-Mount Academy where he lettered in football, basketball, baseball and track and field.
He was projected to be one of the top athletes and football players in the state his junior and senior season, but a pair of ACL injuries kept him off the field.
Caudle is following in the footsteps of his father who also played for the Jayhawks at quarterback along with being a standout at Midway-Denton during their runs in the 1980s.
Nick is trying to make his own name and will look to see his first major action at KU beginning next Saturday when the Jayhawks take on Coastal Carolina at 9 p.m. in Lawrence.
