The young spring sports season of golf as been a good one for the Holton Wildcats thus far and it continued as they won their home Invitational crown competiting with five other teams.

Topeka-Seaman, Silver Lake, Council Grove, Royal Valley and Immaculata all competed in the action at Holton.

The Wildcats highlighted the day by taking home first place with a combined scored of 307, which was 45 strokes better than second place finishers Topeka-Seaman. Holton used the top four perfromances of the Invitational to take home the crown as scores of 74, 74, 77 and 82 made up the Wildcats winning team score. Tavin Dugan and Kenton Tegethoff both shot the best round of the day a 74, but Dugan captured his third first place finish of the year by beating his teammate in a 4-hole playoff.

Following them was Ethan Holaday who took third place with a 77 and Braden Sides who took fourth with an 82 in competition. Wildcats top performances didn't stop there as Preston Sides and Garett Beecher both capped off the stellar Holton performance with top 10 finishes. Sides took home eighth place with an 87 on the day and Beecher shot an 88 to give him tenth place, as Holton took six of the top 10 individual performances of the day.

Area schools, Royal Valley and Immaculata also participated in the Holton Invite finishing fifth and sixth place, respectively as teams, but the Panthers were highlighted on the day with a top 10 individual performer. Abe Stewart posted an 87 to finish in seventh place individual on the day for the Panthers.
