The Jefferson West baseball team secured their spot in the 3A State Tournament for a second straight season.
The #1 ranked Tigers defeated Riley County 16-1 in the first round of the regional tournament last week.
They bounced back for the semifinals and championship games in Ozawkie on Tuesday night.
They took care of Hiawatha in the semifinals with a 7-1 win and followed that up with a dominate 18-0 victory over Maur Hill-Mount Academy in the championship game.
The Tigers are 24-2 overall and will enter the state tournament next week as one of the top seeds, potentially the top seed depending on some outcomes.
The only two losses this season for the Tigers was against Sabetha on April 27 by final scores of 8-6 and 9-7.
Last season, Jeff West got to the state tournament, but lost in the first round against Sabetha by a final score of 2-0.
