Axtell Volleyball Finishes Second Place at Home Tournament

The Axtell volleyball team hosted their home tournament on Saturday and they would finish in second place. 

The Eagles lost to Hanover in the championship 19-25, 25-18, 21-25. Axtell went 2-1 in pool play defeating Johnson-Brock and Washington County with their lone loss against Valley Heights. 

Axtell beat Sacred Heart 25-15, 25-22 in the semifinals before falling to the Wildcats in the championship. 

Valley Heights finished fifth place in the tournament going 2-1 in pool play with wins over Axtell and Washington County with the lone loss to Johnson-Brock. Due to tiebreakers, Valley Heights didn't make it out of pool play to the championship bracket. 

The Mustangs would beat Diller-Odell in straight sets in their first consolation match and they would follow that with a straight sets win against Washington County to claim fifth place.
