The Holton girls cross country team won their home meet on Thursday afternoon while the Wildcat boys finished the day in second place behind only Abilene.
The Wildcat girls got three finishes inside the top 10 with Ava Clayton in fifth place, Kennedy Smith in sixth place, and Sophia Goombi in seventh place.
Recent MSC Athlete of the week and Hiawatha's Pauly Rockey won the event with a time of 21:53.10 which helped the Redhawks finish second in the team standings behind Holton. The Redhawks also got a ninth place finish from Bri Guilliams.
The Oskaloosa girls posted a third place finish and they were led by Emma Vogel who finished the meet in fourth place. The Bears also had Annabelle Shelkey finish in eighth place.
The Abilene boys won the meet while Holton finished in second place, Jefferson West in third place, Jackson Heights in fourth place, and McLouth in fifth place.
Guy Phillips of Jefferson West won the event with a time of 18:21.00 while Perry-Lecompton's Ethan Tolbert finished in second place with a time of 18:32.00. Talen Browning of Jackson Heights finished in fifth place.
The Holton boys were led by Jacob Warner in sixth place, Daniel Cannon in seventh place, and Dominic Lancaster in eighth place.
Maur Hill-Mount Academy's Corbin Madden finished the meet in ninth place.
