The Valley Falls softball team opened play at their home in-season tournament on Friday, April 11 with a big time win over NEKL foe ACCHS 17-0 (3 innings).

In the top of the first inning, the Tigers had an opportunity to strike first but Dragons starting pitcher Abby Wilson got out of a bases loaded jam.

In the bottom of the first inning, the Dragons would go on to put up 10 runs on just four hits as they would send 15 batters to the plate in the inning.

The Tigers had a chance to get out of the inning with only two runs allowed but a couple of errors and some key hits blew the game wide open early.

Wilson would strike out two Tigers in the top of the second and would face just four batters in the inning.

The Dragons would send 12 to the plate in the bottom of the second inning and they would tally seven runs on five hits.

After a single by Madisen Mount in the top of the third for ACCHS, Wilson would strike out the next two Tigers and then Mount would be picked off at third base to end the game after a nice play by Dragons catcher Taygan Pannell.

Pretty much everyone in the Dragons lineup found a productive at-bat in the game.

Brooklyn Schmelzle reached base three times and scored three runs, Skylar Neiberger reached base three times and drove in two runs, Wilson had two hits and three RBI's, Cassie Frakes reached base three times and drove in three runs, Pannell had two hits and two RBI's, and Cali DeLong reached base twice and drove in three runs.
