Derrick Williams

Senior Guard Derrick Williams of Peru State was selected the Heart of America Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.
 
Williams set the tone for the Bobcats to pick up two wins last week as he led the team in scoring in both games.   A native of St. Joseph, Mo., he averaged 28.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists while shooting 61.8 percent from the floor and hitting all 15 of his free throws.
 
The week started with a season-high 32 points on 12-of-16 shooting for Williams in a win over Baker that also saw him grab six rebounds and hand out three assists. He followed that up with 25 points, seven rebounds and two assists in a road victory over Missouri Valley.
