The Nemaha Central volleyball continued their strong 2023 season as they won their home invitational on Saturday.
The Thunder got out of pool play with a record of 3-1. They defeated Hiawatha, ACCHS, and Maranatha but lost to Rock Creek.
They defeated Marysville in straight sets in the semifinals and would go on to beat NEK 25-18, 20-25, 25-20 in the championship match.
The Thunder are now 14-2 overall and they also have a second place tournament finish on the record this season at Marysville back in late August.
Hiawatha and Sabetha both finished the tournament 2-2 and were unable to make it out of pool play. The Redhawks got wins over ACCHS and Maranatha while the Bluejays picked up a couple of wins over Atchison and Horton.
Horton finished pool play 1-3 while both ACCHS and Atchison finished the tournament with 0-4 records.
