Area Golfers Set to Compete at State Tournaments

State Golf Tournaments are set to kick off a very busy week as the 2022-2023 high school sports season is coming to a close. 

The two-day tournaments will be on Monday and Tuesday. 

Class 4A will be held at Quail Ridge Golf Course in Winfield. Holton's Parker Crouch will tee off at 9:00 AM on Monday while his teammate Brody Meyer will tee off at 9:40 AM. 

The Class 3A Tournament is being held out in Dodge City and will be played at Mariah Hills Golf Course.

Sabetha leads the way after winning the Regional Title. Tyler Menold will tee off Monday at 9:40 AM, Caleb Renyer at 9:50 AM, Cole Grimes at 10:00 AM, Dalton Rokey at 10:10 AM, Roman Scoby at 10:20 AM and Cullen Wikle at 10:30 AM. 

Nemaha Central has two competing with Aidan Broxterman teeing off at 9:10 AM while Isaac Lueger will start his round at 9:20 AM. 

Marysville's Eli Sedlacek will tee off at 8:40 AM while his teammate John Lauer will tee off at 9:00 AM. 

The Class 2A Tournament is in Hesston at Hesston Golf Course. Valley Heights has one in the field with Jayden DeWalt who will open his round on Monday at 9:20 AM. 

Class 1A will be in Emporia at Emporia Municipal Golf Course. Centralia has their full squad and will look to compete for the State Title. Miles Wimberly will tee off at 9:10 AM, Reese Tanking at 9:20 AM, Gage Wimberly at 9:30 AM, Drew Rumbo at 9:40 AM, Paxton Bowers at 9:50 AM and Drew Gibbs at 10:00 AM. 

Washington County will have their full squad competing as well with Monte Huckett teeing off at 9:30 AM, Miles Miller at 9:40 AM, Noah Hoover at 9:50 AM, Grayson Votipka at 10:00 AM, Carson Kearn at 10:10 AM and Konner Gepner at 10:20 AM. 

Onaga will have two competing with Anthony Valburg opening his first round at 8:50 AM and Konnor Nider teeing off at 9:00 AM.
