Hanover Sweeps Frankfort in TVL Showdown on Friday Night

It was a battle of four ranked teams on Friday night in Frankfort as the Wildcats welcomed the Wildcats on Hanover in two important TVL games. 

Girls: #3 1A-II Hanover 59, #10 1A-I Frankfort 45

The second quarter seemed to be the big difference as Hanover outscored Frankfort 14-7 which gave them a 10 point lead at halftime and Hanover was able to hold off Frankfort the rest of the game. 

Ceegan Atkins was Hanover's leading scorer with 13 points to go along with 10 rebounds. Anna Jueneman and Michelle Zarybnicky each added nine points. 

Frankfort was led by Hattie Gros with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Emma Hardwick added 13 points and five rebounds. 

Hanover outrebounded Frankfort 40-26 and had 13 turnovers. Frankfort had 12 turnovers and shot eight of 10 at the free throw line while Hanover shot nine of 18 at the line. 

Hanover improves to 6-1 while Frankfort falls to 4-3 and 0-3 in TVL play. 

Boys: #1 1A-II Hanover 55, #7 1A-I Frankfort 42

Frankfort kept this game tight throughout but Hanover was able to pull away in the second half to win their 28th straight game dating back to last season. 

Hanover, the defending State Champs, led 28-24 at halftime but outscored Frankfort 13-6 in the third quarter and was able to keep Frankfort at arms length the rest of the game. 

Hanover outrebounded Frankfort 43-22 and was led Emmitt Jueneman with 17 points while Philip Doebele posted a monster double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds. Josh Zarybnicky added 10 points as well. 

Frankfort was led by Caden Dalinghaus with 15 points while Keller Olson added 11. 

Hanover improves to 7-0 while Frankfort drops to 5-2 and 2-1 in TVL play. 

Tuesday, Hanover travels to Axtell while Frankfort hosts Wetmore.
