Sabetha Bluejays continue to do work on the mats this season as the eighth ranked team in the latest KWCA 3A rankings won both duals at the Maryville (Mo) Double Dual last night.
The Sabetha dispatched of both of their opponents in impressive and dominating fashion securing a 57-12 win over Falls City in which of the 14 weight class the Bluejays had winners in all but three, with one weight class being one for both teams. Bluejays dominated the host school as well, as they took down Maryville 63-15 only losing three weight class in that dual also with the 113lb weight class being open for Sabetha, counting as one of those three.
Nine Sabetha grapplers on the night walked away with a 2-0 night on the mat in the competition. Three Bluejay wrestlers, Klyer Krebs (138lbs), Michael Baumgartner (160lbs) and Levi Huneke (182lbs) not only went 2-0 but earned both of their wins via pinfall on the evening.
Trei Herrell (106lbs), Ben Meyer (132lbs), Kaid Allen (145lbs), Brandon Herrell (170lbs), Tyler Edelman (195lbs) and Issac Wenger (220lbs) all also went 2-0 during the Maryville Double Dual.
Sabetha's other four wrestlers competing on the night all ended the night with a 1-1 record as Thaine Allen (120lbs), Austin Garber (126lbs), Noah Krehbiel (152lbs) and Jacob Leuthold (285lbs) all registered that mark on the evening.
Bluejays hit the mat again as part of the Marysville (KS) Jayhusker Tournament tomorrow at 9:00am.
