KBCA All-State Selections – Girls & Boys
Postseason awards for the high school basketball season wrapped up Monday with the release of all-state teams by the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association which features several local athletes.
On the girl’s side in Class 3A Sabetha’s Melinna Schumann was named a first team selection while her fellow teammate Leah Renyer earned a second team nod.
Nemaha Central’s Cassidy Corby was also named to the second team along with Royal Valley’s Mahpiya Irving.
In Class 2A just one local girl earned an all-state selection in Valley Heights’ Emma Yungeberg who earned a first team nod in her junior season.
Just like in 2A, Wetmore’s Kenzie Strathman was the only all-state selection in 1A-DII as she earned a second team nod.
Frankfort’s Mariah Broxterman rounds out the girl’s side as she was named a second team selection in 1A-DI.
On the boy’s side in Class 4A the Holton Wildcats received an all-state selection from senior Kale Purcell who earned a spot on the second team.
Royal Valley’s Nahcs Wahwassuck is the lone Class 3A selection as he earned another first team nod in his junior campaign.
The final all-state selections come in 1A-DII as Hanover’s Emmitt Jueneman earned a first team selection while fellow Wildcat Jacob Jueneman was named to the second team.
