Onaga's Mayginnes Named Best of Kansas Preps Girls Wrestler of the Year

Tthe Topeka Capitol Journal held their Best of Kansas Preps awards Thursday night and Onaga’s Morgan Mayginnes was the only local winner as she was named the 2020 girls wrestler of the year in the state.

Mayginnes was far and away the best girl’s wrestler all season long and proved that in the postseason where she captured the 155-pound state title to cap off a perfect season at 13-0.

She wasn’t scored on once the entire postseason and has earned herself one of the top rankings in the country.

Mayginnes is also a two-time top-seven finisher at the Oklahoma Folkstyle Nationals and a Kansas Kids State Champion.

She now turns her attention to the collegeiate level where she has signed to continue her wrestling career at Baker University.
