It was a season to remember as the Troy Trojans in just their fourth year as a baseball program won the Regional title, made the 2-1A State tournament and finished the season with a fourth place showing, finishing the year 20-5.

The Trojans opened the State tournament as the number two seed and won their first round game with a 5-0 commanding shutout win over Ellis, behind timely hits and great pitching. Troy got on the board early scoring a pair of runs in the first inning as Cody Israel knocked in Alex Schmille with an RBI double and Nathan Gaarder scored Israel on a sacrifice fly, making it 2-0 just after the first inning. Caleb Winkel added an RBI single in the game and Gaarder posted another RBI later aide the cause offensively as Troy made the best of seven hits in the game. On the mound Gaarder pitched six innings of shutout baseball striking out six to earn the win as Tristan Speer closed the door pitching the final inning as the two-combined for a four-hit 5-0 Troy win, assuring them a fourth place finish or better at State.

Troy took to the diamond in the Semifinals against Little River and after trailing 1-0 early, the Trojans put together a two-run fourth inning to take the 2-1 lead, but Little River responded with six runs over the final three innings to claim the 7-2 win over the Trojans. Troy only mustered four hits in the contest and with the loss set up a match up against Udall for third place at the 2-1A State tournament.

In the third place contest Troy grabbed the quick 1-0 lead after the first inning, but Udall put up three runs in the second to gain the lead. The Trojans were not stymied by falling behind as the scored seven runs over the next three frames, plating four in the third, one in the fourth and two in the fifth to hold an 8-4 lead going into the sixth inning. In the bottom of the sixth Udall got one-run back, moving to within three runs and then put together a four-run bottom of the seven to steal third place away from Troy, as the Trojans fell 9-8.

Coach Roger Purdy and the Trojans put together a season to remember posting a 20-5 record, fourth place finish in 2-1A at State and winning the Regional title.
