In a Monday meeting of former DVL rivals, Horton was able to make late plays and keep their winning streak alive with a sweep at Troy.

GIRLS = Horton 29, Troy 24
In a low scoring affair, the game was only tied once at 23-23 with 2:03 to play in the final quarter, and Troy had their only lead of the game 24-23 with :90 left after a free throw by Alainie Stock.  Yet, Horton got a late steal and layup from Amber Wilhelm and late basket by Sarah Coversup to secure their fifth straight win.  Coversup finished with 10 points after sitting out the first quarter and Horton improved to 12-4 on the season.  Troy got 11 points from sophomore, Madison Marriott off the bench while Stock added 8 before the Lady Trojans dropped to 7-10 on the season.  Troy had 18 turnovers and was only 2 of 4 from the foul-line in dropping their third consecutive game.

BOYS = Horton 64, Troy 63 in Overtime
The boys game featured 15 lead changes, although Troy led most of the night and had a big lead of 43-34 late in the first half.  Horton took their first lead since the opening quarter 46-45 and went back ahead 55-54 with under 2:00 to play in regulation.  Colin Jasper got a steal and layup with :55 left to put the Trojans up 56-55 but a Josh Allen free throw tied the game with :35 left.  Troy missed a shot to end regulation and we went to overtime tied at 56.  William Boeh scored all 7 points for Troy in the extra period and finished with 20 points, but it was Trey Dishon scoring the last 6 points of the game for Horton including a go-ahead bucket with :25 left.  Troy missed two shots to win the game in the closing seconds and fell to 9-9 with their third straight loss and fifth in the last six contests.  After Boeh's 20 points, Jake Ross finished with all 13 in the first half and Nathan Gaarder had 12 in the second half, while Jasper added 10 for the Trojans.  Horton got 22 from Dishon, while Derrick Stone added 16 and  Josh Allen 14 and the Chargers improved to 11-5 with their fourth win in a row.  They hit 13 of 15 free throws on the night in what is likely the final meeting in awhile between these teams.
