A local Head Coach at McLouth as well as former Troy Head Coach have been selected to lead their respective east and west squads in the 2014 Shrine Bowl (41st) to be played July 26th in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Chris Stewart has been the coach at McLouth for the past six seasons. His Bulldogs broke through with a 7-2 record in 2011, then went 9-2 in 2012 including an undefeated DVL Title and playoff win.  This year, Coach Stewart has McLouth back in the post-season as 2-1A District 2 champs for the second straight year sporting a 6-2 record with loses only coming at Nemaha Valley (8-1) in week one and versus Olpe (35-28) in week four.  Coach Stewart was an assistant a year ago and will be the Head Coach of the East squad this summer.

The Coach of the West Shrine Bowl team will be Steve Martin who is currently leading Wichita Northwest in his second season.  Martin was the head Coach at Troy High School from 2005-2008.  He went 31-11 in his four seasons with the Trojans including four playoff appearances and two undefeated DVL Titles.  Martin beat Stewart when the coaches squared off one time in 2008.
