Peru State Romps Past Central Methodist

(KTNC) -  The Peru State Bobcats improved to 7-1 on the season with a 51-24 victory over Central Methodist University on Saturday in Fayette, Missouri.
 The ‘Cats took control of the game early with 24 points in the first quarter.  They led 31-3 at halftime and built a 38-3 lead before Central Methodist scored three consecutive touchdowns to make it a game in the second half.
 The Bobcats responded with two late touchdowns to put the game out of reach.
 Peru State had another big day on the ground, finishing with 339 rushing yards.  Ethan Bray had 125 yards rushing, with two touchdowns, and Marcus Spearman had 121 yards and one touchdown.  Quarterback Tyler Audsley rushed for 52 yards and two scores.
 Audsley had an efficient day passing, completing 10-of-13 for 129 yards.
 Central Methodist had 227 yards rushing, but CMU quarterbacks threw three interceptions and completed just 13 of 32 passes in the game.
 The win gives Peru State a 5-1 record in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. The Bobcats are in a three-way tie for second place in the HAAC, one game out of first place.
