For one final time a pair of 8-Man rival's duked it out on the football field in the regular season as it was a clash of top five teams in Hanover as the Wildcats (#4) hosted the B&B Falcons (#1).

Falcons flew high on the road to their eighth straight win in the series against the Wildcats but it didn't come easy as the two teams dueled until late in the game when the Falcons sealed the victory by running out the clock, to earn the 34-22 win.

Early on Hanover looked to have early momentum driving down the field on their first drive up turned it over on downs deep in Falcon territory, but the Wildcat defense shut down B&B on their first two offensive drives.

Wildcats struck first in the competition behind a solid offensive drive and the feet of quarterback, Andrew Bruna and tailback, Preston Jueneman who tallied a majority of Hanover's 220 yards offense. Jueneman capped off the scoring drive for Hanover giving them an 8-0 lead after the two-point conversion, after scoring on a 17-yard pass from Bruna.

The Falcons responded with a drive of 73 yards to look to tie the game as the Falcons tossed their way to the one-yard line when quarterback, Dustin Rottinghaus punched it in for the score, but the Falcons missed the two-point conversion, so Hanover lead 8-6.

After B&B 's defense came up with a stop of Hanover, the Falcons soared down the field again via the air attack but Rottinghaus was picked off by Hunter Nicholson of Hanover who returned it 72 yards for the defensive score extending the Wildcat lead to 14-6, after a failed two-point conversion. The Falcons were not rattled as the responded on the next offensive drive as Rottinghaus slung the ball again to his favorite targets, Cameron Haug and Blake Deters. Driving for a tying score Rottinghaus tossed a 33-yard pass to Dylan Steinlage who took in for the score and after a two-point conversion, it was 14-14.

With a little time left in the first half Hanover threatened to regain the lead but the Wildcats tossed an interception in the endzone to end the first half as, Steinlage picked the pass off for B&B, to keep it 14-14 going into halftime.

Out of the second half the B&B Falcons controlled the third quarter shutting down Hanover and scoring twice. Haug caught a 29-yard touchdown pass from Rottinghaus and Dustin added a rushing score from five yards out, also making it 26-14.

The Wildcats would not go away quietly scoring to start of the fourth quarter with a two-yard, Bruna touchdown run, to cut the B&B lead to four after a successful two-point conversion, 26-22.

Hanover got the ball back looking to regain the lead but the Falcons had other things in mind as Dylan Schmitz picked off a Bruna pass and took it to the house and B&B added the two-point conversion to push the lead back to 12 points. Falcons then got the ball back on a turnover on downs by Hanover and then ran out the clock to earn the road win.

Rottinghaus continued his dominate offensive display this season going 23-43 for 344 yards and two touchdown, while rushing for a pair of scores, also, despite the B&B rushing attack being held to 56 yards as a team. Haug caught five passes for 123 yards and a score, while Blake Deters caught 10 passes for 147 yards. While the B&B Falcon defense came up with four Hanover turnovers in the matchup as it was Dylan Schmitz, Dylan Steinlage and Blake Deters each registering an interception.

For Hanover the passing game struggled, alongside the four turnovers in the competition as Bruna and Jueneman lead the way with just over 70 rush yards each. On defense, Ethan Fristchi had a pair of sack’s and a partial blocked punt all of which came in the first half.

With the win the B&B Falcons improved to 7-1 on the season and captured the 8-Man Division II district one title, the Twin Valley League 8-Man title and a home field first round playoff game. Falcons will wrap up the regular season next week at home against the Blue Valley-Randolph Rams. For Hanover they moved to 5-2 on the season with the loss and despite the loss will finish as runner-up in the district and make the playoffs, as they will cap of the regular season next week at Frankfort.
