Former Highland CC right handed pitcher and Seneca, Kansas native, Derek Rottinghaus will be continuing his collegiate baseball career at Missouri Western State University next year.

The JUCO pitcher, pitched for the Highland Scotties the last two seasons leading the Scotties in innings pitched this past year with 50. Rottinghaus went 3-4 on the mound with a 5.22 ERA, walking only eight and striking out 31 on the season that say the Scotties finish 24-27 on the season.

The honorable mention All-Jayhawk conference pitcher is currently coaching the Seneca legion team this summer leading them to the top of the NEK League rankings with just a few weeks left in the season. As he looks to help Seneca Legion baseball get to state again this time as their Coach, as he finished second at state with Seneca when he was playing on the legion team.

Come fall, Rottinghaus will head to Missouri Western State to pursue his degree in business and continue his baseball career in the spring with the Griffons who went 40-12 last year.
