A guard from a Kansas junior college has signed a letter of intent to play basketball next season at Creighton.

James Milliken averaged better than 18 points a game and shot 42 percent on 3-pointers for Cowley County Community College in Arkansas City, Kan., last season. He was named to the All-Jayhawk Conference first team and was a first-team all-region pick. He had 32 points and eight 3-pointers in a January game and was the No. 39 junior-college prospect by the website jucorecruiting.com.

Creighton coach Greg McDermott said the 6-foot-2 Milliken can score in a variety of ways and will fit in perfectly with the Bluejays as they move into the Big East Conference. He'll have two years of eligibility.

Milliken is the fifth newcomer on the 2013-14 Creighton roster.
