Purdy Shines for Northern Arizona in Season Opening Win

Former Atchison Phoenix Jeter Purdy continued his college football career on Saturday helping Northern Arizona defeat Eastern Washington 34-27 in the season opener. 

The 6'3 redshirt sophomore led all pass catchers with seven receptions for 105 yards which included a go-ahead 30 yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. 

Last year as a freshman, Purdy earned Freshman All-America honors appearing in all 12 games, making five starts, and finishing with 29 receptions for 415 yards and two touchdowns. 

He was a four-year starter during his time at Atchison and played multiple positions. He caught 44 passes for 1,287 yards and 18 touchdowns while 854 of those yards came during his senior year. On defense he racked up 125 career tackles and 10 career interceptions.
